9:58p - Dinner with Hef at the Playboy mansion
We're barely in to 2009 and already I know this is going to be an amazing year. While the end of 2008 was equal parts dramatic and traumatic, everything about 2009 has been amazing and only appears to be getting better. Right now I'm working on some projects I'm just DYING to discuss but have to wait a little bit so please stay tuned for some major announcements. One of the things I can semi-discuss is a project in the works with OLIVIA. As many of you know getting to pose for her this summer was an absolute thrill for me. Having been a fan of her work since the age of 15 so I never thought I would ever get to be one of her pin-ups let alone get to work on projects and hang out with her and her equally awesome husband Joel. A few days ago they were kind enough to invite me to the legendary Playboy mansion for dinner with Hef and some friends. When I got there one of the first things I noticed is that unlike many places the property is just as impressive as it is on television. 
While I've been invited to a few big parties at the mansion and was unable to attend for whatever reason, I'm so glad I waited because my introduction to the Playboy experience by Olivia and Joel couldn't have been more special. Not including the staff I would say there only had to be about 15 guests or so milling about the house. So there I was with Joel and Olivia, Hef's brother, one of his close friends who also happened to be an original Mousekateer, some really lovely Playboy writers and photographers, a bunch of beautiful blondes, as well as the man himself...Hef. Having worked in publishing for a few years I have to admit I was completely impressed by the fact everyone involved with the magazine really seemed to care about each other like family. I heard stories sometimes going back as far as thirty years (that's two years older than me if you're counting). Hef was absolutely adorable in his signature smoking jacket and we had a nice moment where he joked about my hair asking if I dyed it for the movie we were about to watch (the original Scarlet Pimpernel. His staff photographer got a photo of us that I'm really hoping to see. My favorite part of the evening had to be getting the private tour of the grounds by Olivia.
